Organize a Techstars Startup Weekend in your Community
What is Techstars Startup Weekend
Techstars Startup Weekend is not your typical event. Techstars Startup Weekends are 54-hour events designed to provide superior experiential education for individuals wanting to know what it takes to be an entrepreneur.

Techstars Startup Weekends are centered around action, innovation and education. Beginning with Friday night pitches and continuing through testing, business model development, and basic prototype creation, Techstars Startup Weekends culminate in Sunday night demos to a panel of potential investors and local entrepreneurs. Participants are challenged with building functional startups during the event and are able to collaborate with like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks.

How Techstars assists organizers

Every event is operated semi-autonomously, with all aspects of the event being planned and executed by a team of local Organizers.

Our small, full-time Techstars Startup Weekend team provides ongoing support to each Event's Organizing Team throughout the event planning process, from systems management, advice on best practices (see The Organizer's Guide), facilitating connections, and more

  • Sourcing local sponsorships to help cover event costs and managing the event budget
  • Managing food, drink, and supplies for the event
Repeat Organizers
STOP: Have you organized a SW already? Glad to have you back! We already have most of the information listed below. Here's a shorter application to save you some time
1. You must attend a Startup Weekend before organizing.

All Startup Weekend Organizers must have previously attended a Startup Weekend event. This is important for a number of reasons, but the bottom line is there is simply no way to fully understand what Startup Weekend is all about without experiencing it firsthand. We strongly recommend you not only attend to observe, but actually participate on a team. We're fortunate enough to have events on every Continent, so there should be an upcoming event near you.

2. Read the Rules and Requirements.

These rules help us deliver on our mission and ensure your event is setup for success! All organizers are expected to read and abide by these rules while organizing.

3. Apply to Organize!
